Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. (JMCFI) Community lauds the achievement of the JMC Law Debate and Moot Society (DMS) for bringing pride and honor to the JMCFI Community with its achievements during the 2022 National Moot Court Competition (NMCC) on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) held on October 10-14, 2022 that is annually organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

The DMS bagged the following awards in the said competition:
– Quarter-Finalist (Oral Rounds)
– First Runner-Up (Best Memorial-Defense)

The NMCC aims to provide an avenue for law students to become acquainted with and proficient in IHL issues. The competition is based on a hypothetical war problem leading to a charge of war crimes against the military commander. The participants are tasked to write memorials and orally argue both for the prosecution and the defense using the different laws and principles of international humanitarian law.

Since its participation in the IHL Moot Competition, the DMS has been consistent in securing a spot for the Memorial Rounds. Congratulations, DMS!
