JMarian paddlers bag awards in various Ping Pong tournaments

To date, 7 JMarians demonstrated quick reactions, strategic thinking, and persistence while battling in the Table Tennis table since early March of this year. These kiddos brought home numerous awards in various tournaments held in Davao city and in the neighboring regions.

Keana Kirstie won 2nd place in the 1st Beach Ping Pong Tournament (Women’s Single) at Seagull Whitesand Beach Resort, Matina Aplaya, Davao City on March 13, 2022.

Last August 13, 2022, JMCFI table tennis varsities participated in the Batang Pinoy selection held at Darrel Torres Table Tennis Sports Center Moonland Subd, Ecoland, Davao City. Two (2) JMCFI players are qualifiers (Boys 15 years and under): 1st place – Lauriano Apolonio (wearing white shirt) and 2nd palce – James Ryan Rufin (wearing red & black shirt) for Batang Pinoy National this coming December 17 – 23, 2022 in Vigan City.

For girls 12 years and under, Kasey Nicole (who place 2nd), also got qualified.

During the Mayor Rolando Klarex Uy National Open Table Tennis Tournament last Augut 27 – 29, 2022 in Cagayan de Oro City, Lauriano Apolonio became Champion (12 years old & under boys).

On October 15 – 16, 2022, Ken Kaiser Luzon (who became part of Team Spin Davao), was awarded 1st-runner Up alongside players from UM and Brokenshire in the 1st Tboli Knoon Festival Open Table Tennis Tournament at Tboli South Cotabato. He also placed 2nd in the Open Singles catergory.

Mary Joy Emnacin (wearing yellow shirt) became champion for the Women’s Category in the Man-ay Table Tennis Open Tournament on October 15 & 16, 2022 held in Manay, Davao Oriental.

In the 6th Butuan City National Open Table Tennis Tournament, Ken Kaiser Luzon was the 1st-runner Up for the Men’s Open category. This was held last October 28 – 30, 2022 at Robinson’s Place , Butuan City.

Another win was claimed by JMCFI on November 12 – 13, 2022 during the Davao City Table Tennis Tournament at Spin Davao, Torres Street. For Men’s Single Category, Ken Kaiser Luzon was the champion and Herzel Miles Abendan got the 1st-runner up place.

“Participating in table tennis tournament provides invaluable life skills and talents of the student athletes but also develop the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among individuals,” Coach Liza V. Luzon expressed.
